Weather Situation

A low pressure trough over western Bass Strait is expected to reach Port Phillip and Western Port by 0900 Saturday. An vigorous cold front will cross Bight waters on Saturday before moving through Port Phillip and Western Port early on Sunday. An associated low pressure system will deepen and move across Tasmania and Bass Strait later on Sunday before tracking over the Tasman Sea on Monday. another cold front will approach southwest Victoria late on Tuesday.

Forecast for Saturday until midnight

Winds: West to northwesterly 15 to 25 knots tending north to northwesterly 20 to 30 knots during the evening. Seas: 1 to 1.5 metres.

Forecast for Sunday

Winds: West to northwesterly 20 to 30 knots tending west to southwesterly during the afternoon at 25/35 knots. Seas: 1 to 2 metres. Isolated thunderstorms with hail from the morning until late afternoon.

Forecast for Monday

Winds: West to southwesterly 25 to 35 knots tending south to southwesterly during the morning then tending southerly up to 30 knots during the afternoon. Winds easing to a southwesterly of 15 to 20 knots during the evening. Seas: 1 to 2 metres.

Forecast for Tuesday

Winds: West to southwesterly 15 to 20 knots tending west to northwesterly 10 to 15 knots during the afternoon. Seas: 0.5 to 1 metres.
